Spread Betting Traders Diary
A different spread betting account
10/7/2007
Day 7I open another
spread betting account. I thought it was time to move on to bigger, better, and scarier things, like
spread betting on stuff other than foreign currency. I am using Capital Spreads. With this I did not need to download a program, I just
signed up and they emailed me a password. I am able to trade on different
commodities,
stocks,
bonds,
indices, and more. This site did not come with a complimentary tutorial phone call, but it did not look too bad. Especially since I have been working with the other site I knew most of the terminology and how spread betting works. I found my way around the site quite easily. My 1st bet was going long on
S&P 500 and the second was short on
FTSE 100. Within the first couple of minutes I am only down by
£8. At the end of the day I am making £14 with
S&P, loosing £30 with
FTSE, and loosing £26 with
Barclay's
While playing around with the new program I have also been using the old one too. I have not made good decisions and I am slowly finding that you can easily over bet while spread betting. When I become comfortable with a program I just start taking chances that are not necessary. I have now lost more than £800 for the day. I ill be closing some of the accounts based off of the graphs.
